5 Uses of an Exercise Ball
Exercise Ball Usage in 5 Steps
More and more people are into proper fitness right now. Some would focus on developing the upper body, Lower Body or the abs. In developing your abdominal muscles, common practice would be the sit - ups. Experts have searched for a new way of developing abdominal muscles, without limiting the development only to the said muscle. They have developed an equipment that improves your abs, back, thigh, arms, legs, and also your coordination. Thus Exercise Ball was introduced.
The Ball is elastic, soft but is made of very strong material; it can support a human body easily. Compared to the previous way of developing your abs, this one is more versatile and more enjoyable. With the standard sit – ups, you will be just lying on the flat floor while doing your crunches, without having to worry about your balance. With this ball, you can actually do your crunches on it at the same time maintaining your balance. This way, you will develop better body coordination and also develop other parts of your body that could not be achieved with just the standard sit – ups. Basically, your abdominal muscles would work harder, you will have greater range of motion, and your workout would be more enjoyable and challenging.
Here are some steps you can follow to use your new equipment.
1.Read full instructions on proper care of the ball.
2.Observe proper preliminary workout procedure like stretching.
3.Do not do your crunches on the ball right away you need to find your balance first. Some experts recommend to just simply sitting on the exercise ball for a short period of time to test your balance. Once you’re accustomed to it, try to bounce lightly while maintaining your balance. Try to maintain good posture while you are on the balance ball as this will help you in finding your center of gravity.
4.After you find you balance, try to do simple crunches. Gradually increase the frequency everyday. Do not overwork your body on your first try since this may result to soreness of your body or strains which will make you stop your daily workout session.
5.A few days or weeks after, look for more challenging programs that you can do with your new equipment. You can actually combine it with a couple of dumbells. One example is the dumbell crunches where you will lie down on the ball, your feet flat on the ground, grab a dumbell and hold it behind your head. Once you achieve a good position, you can do your crunches while holding the dumbell behind your head which gives you a harder workout not only to your abs, but also to other parts of the body.
After every workout session, always drink a lot of water, cool down and have a healthy diet. I’m sure you will enjoy your workout sessions better if you are going to use this equipment.
